Main Other Systems Options Rates Client Defaults Tabs3 Pay LawPay LexCharge

The Client Defaults tab allows you to set several default options for new clients. These defaults can be changed at any time and will not affect clients already entered in Tabs3 Billing. Once the client record has been saved, these options can be changed for an individual client by editing the Client matter, or changed for multiple clients using the Change Client Options program.

When adding a new client, the client's field values will be based on the default values specified on this tab. However, when adding a subsequent matter for a client that already exists, some field values will be inherited from the client's highest numbered active matter (provided you are using a Numeric or Mixed Key Type). For example, if client 221.01 exists, when you add matter 221.02, the Progress Billing, Release to Bill, and Bill on Demand settings will be the same as client 221.01's rather than the defaults shown in Customization. See Fields inherited by New Matters for a complete list of fields inherited from previous matters.

The Client Defaults tab determines the defaults for many of the options found on the Setup, Billing Options, Billing Preferences and Statement Options tabs for the matter in the Client Information window.
