| Statement Delivery Options |
The Statement Delivery Options section is used to define who will receive a statement for this client and how that statement will be delivered. Up to two Bill To records can be defined for each matter. The table shown in this section displays the contact and basic information from the Bill To Record window, and whether a password will be used to protect email PDF statements. The information displayed on the Address tab of the Client file is used as the Default Bill To record address.
The following columns are displayed in the Statement Delivery Options table.
| Bill To Name | The Bill To Name column displays the contact who will receive a statement for this client. |
| Description | The Description column displays the content of the Description field from the Bill To Record window. |
| The Mail column displays Yes or No based on whether the contact will receive statements via mail. Yes is shown when the Mail Statement check box is selected in the Bill To Record window. No is shown when this check box is cleared. | |
| The Email column displays Yes or No based on whether the contact will receive statements via email. Yes is shown when the Email Statement check box is selected in the Bill To Record window. No is shown when this check box is cleared. |
The default statement delivery method for new clients is configured on the Client Defaults tab of Customization. Multiple existing clients can be set up to receive statements via mail, email, or both using the Change Client Options program.
The Add button can be used to create an Additional Bill To record.
The Edit button (Alt+D) or double-clicking can be used to edit the highlighted Bill To record as well as provide access to a Delete button for deleting the record.
The Use a password to protect PDF statements when emailed check box and field can be used to secure emailed PDF statements with a matter-specific password.
Note:Duplicate statements, email statements, and envelopes are not generated when draft statements are run. However, cover statements are generated.
Note: If a client requests that you send an email statement to more than one Additional Bill To record, you can create a custom email template with the desired email addresses in the Cc Recipients or Bcc Recipients field. You can then assign this email template to the client using the Bill To Record window.
Note: Clients must have at least one Bill To record set up to receive statements at all times. If both Bill To records are set up with the Mail and Email check boxes cleared (i.e., No in both columns for both rows), you will not be allowed to save the client.
