Enter a number 0-999. The number of Days determines when finance charge will begin to be assessed. This field will not be available if the Assess Finance Charge check box is cleared.

A popup calculator is available when editing this field. The "<" and ">" keys can be used to increase or decrease the number of days one at a time.

0 days Causes a finance charge to be assessed on the client's outstanding past due balance when a new statement is printed.
1 to 999 days past due Causes a finance charge to be assessed on the portion of the client's outstanding past due balance that exceeds the specified number of days past due. Essentially, this figure represents a grace period. Finance charge will be calculated only on the portion of the client's past due balance that is greater than or equal to the specified grace period.

Examples: A client has "0" in the Days field and is billed on 09/30/26. If the client has not paid and you run another statement for the client on 10/31/26, the new statement will show 31 days worth of finance charge. If the client has "30" in the Days field, the client will be charged for only 1 day of finance charge (because the client has a 30 day grace period). Likewise, if the client has "10" in the Days field, the client will be charged for 21 days of finance charge.
