| Progress Billing |
The Progress Billing check box indicates whether a client is set up as a progress billing client.
Select this check box to designate the client as a progress billing client. This allows a progress fee to be billed. Progress fees for the desired amount are entered using a Type 6 transaction code. All fee entries except those with a transaction code Type of 6 will remain in work-in-process until the Progress Billing check box is cleared. If the work-in-process does not equal the desired amount to be billed, the Write-Up/Write-Down Fees and Costs program can be used to adjust the work-in-process. After the check box is cleared and a statement is run, a credit for the total progress billings will automatically be generated on the statement and the work-in-process will be billed.
Clear this check box to remove the progress billing client designation.
Note: With the exception of firms who submit shadow bills to State Farm electronically using Tabs3 Taskbill, use of progress billing with Task Based Billing clients is not supported. See Knowledge Base Article R11853, “Exporting Statements for State Farm Shadow Billing Using Tabs3 Taskbill,” for more information.
Note: You will not be able to edit this check box if the Update Statements program has not been run since a final statement was processed for the client. After running the Update Statements program or unbilling the final statement, you will be allowed to edit this check box.
