| Final Statement Information |
The Final Statement Information window consists of two main areas: a Statement Summary and a Statement Preview.
| Statement Summary | At the top of the window, the Statement Summary section displays information about the client, matter, and final statement shown. The following information is included: | |
| Client Name Client ID | Work Description |
Displays the Client Name, Client ID, and Work Description of the client for the current final statement. If the Client Name is blank, the Contact ID for the client contact will be shown instead.
| Statement Date Statement # |
Displays the Statement Date and Statement Number for the current final statement. |
Assigned To
Displays the User Name of the user assigned to review the pre-bill. If the User Name is blank, the User ID of the assigned user will be shown instead. If no user is assigned, “Unassigned” will be shown. Note: This information is shown for reference purposes and cannot be edited after a pre-bill has been finalized. |
| Billed Due |
Displays the total amount billed on the current final statement and how much is due (unpaid).
| Statement Preview |
A preview of the selected final statement is shown, allowing easy access to the detail of what will be sent to the client. Note: The final statement preview shown is regenerated using the current client settings, default report definition for Generate Statements, and transactions. Technical Note: A common misconception is that the Final Statement Information window retrieves a stored copy of the pre-bill that is identical to the original statement; this is not true. It is important to note that the process actually regenerates the final statement using the current client settings and transactions. Also, depending on changes made to the client's data, it is entirely possible that the final statement may not exactly match the original statement. The original options used in Generate Statements are preserved, as well as the client’s default final statement template, so the format of the statement is retained; however, in some cases amounts may be affected (e.g., due to transaction adjustments, etc.). |
The Final Statement Information window also includes two panes on the right side of the window:
Tip: During the review process, use the Comments pane to make note of who is performing the review, what needs to be changed, and when the statement is ready to be sent to the client. These comments are preserved throughout the billing process, and can be viewed on the Pre-Bill Information or Final Statement Information window. Comments are not available once a final statement has been updated.
