The Client ID represents a unique identifier used to store and retrieve information for a specific client and file. The characters used in the Client ID as well as the minimum and maximum client numbers allowed are determined by the Key Type and Decimal Places specified on the Main tab in Tabs3 Customization.

The maximum length of the Client ID is 12 characters, including an optional decimal point. The Client ID can be formatted to use all numeric characters, all alphanumeric characters or mixed (alphanumeric characters for the client number and numeric characters for the matter number).

Note: The "Client" terminology used in “Client ID” can be changed in Customization. This terminology is used on all menus, windows and reports. However, the label "Client" is used in all documentation.
