The Fee Recap format determines how the optional fee recap appears on the statement and is configured on the Fee Format tab of the Statement Templates program. The fee recap is a summary of fees on the statement and is printed at the end of the fee section of the statement. Tabs3 lets you build your own recap the way you want it to look. All terminology is customizable. The terminology used for the heading of the recap is configured in Line 16 in Statement Customization. The terminology used for the column headings in the recap is configured in Lines 17-21. Bold, italic, and underline attributes can be applied to headings as desired.

Credit transactions are not included in the fee recap. If a statement has credit transactions, they will be printed following the fee recap. Furthermore, if a statement has fee credit transactions with no positive fee transactions, no fee recap will be printed.

After selecting a Fee Recap format (i.e., how you want it subtotaled), specify which columns and options you want included in the recap. Not all options are available with each format.

Note: Keep in mind that the examples shown portray only one way to build each option. All headings are customizable—you can change the wording, make it bold, underlined or italicized. You choose which columns you want included and can also specify whether an average hourly rate or individual rate can be used when the recap is by timekeeper or timekeeper level.

Note: Non-billable hours are not included in the Fee Recap. The Fee Recap will not print if the Fee Format is No Fees.

Note: The "timekeeper" label can be changed in Customization. However, the label "timekeeper" is used in all documentation and examples.

The following Fee Recap options are available:

Timekeeper

The Timekeeper option subtotals amounts in the recap by timekeeper. At least one line is printed for every timekeeper with time on the statement. The timekeeper name is always the first column printed when the Timekeeper option is specified. The default column heading is Timekeeper and can be changed in Line 17 of Statement Customization. The following shows just a few recap examples by timekeeper.

The Timekeeper Level option subtotals fees in the recap. At least one line is printed for every timekeeper level with time on the statement. The following example is by Timekeeper Level and includes hours, rate and total.

The Rate option subtotals fees by rate in the recap. One line is printed for each rate used on the statement, however the rate shown in the recap is calculated based on the total hours and amounts billed for each rate. The following example includes hours, rate and total for each rate.

Note: Due to rounding of billed amounts, the rate shown in the fee recap may not match the exact rate used for the fees billed on the statement. For example, a fee of 0.25 hours with a rate of $71.58 will result in a billed amount of $17.90. However, the fee recap calculates the rate as $17.90 divided by 0.25 hours, resulting in a fee recap rate of $71.60.
No Recap The No Recap option indicates no fee recap will be included on the statement. When this option is selected, all options in the Include box for the Fee Recap are unavailable.

Note: A Task Code Summary can optionally be printed for task based billing clients.

Note: The "Timekeeper" terminology can be changed in Customization. This terminology is used on all menus, windows, and reports. However, the label "Timekeeper" is used in all documentation.
