| Fee Format |
The Fee Format determines the format of the fee section of the statement. After selecting a Fee Format, specify which columns and options you want included in the fee section. The following fee format options are available:
| Standard | The Standard option is for regular billing where all fee transactions are shown on the statement and billed. If subtotaling is not used, transactions are sorted by date. Multiple transactions on the same date are further sorted by reference number. |
| Info Only |
The Info Only option is used when you want the fees to be shown on the statement but you do not want them billed. This option is useful for when you want the client to see the fees on the statement, yet you want the transactions to remain in work-in-process until this option is changed. This option is commonly used for contingency clients where the final bill is not completed until the file is settled. If subtotaling is not used, transactions are sorted by date. Multiple transactions on the same date are further sorted by reference number. Amounts do not print for transactions when this option is selected. Note: When a pre-bill is generated using the Info Only Fee Format, fee transactions shown on the pre-bill remain as work-in-process, and are therefore not protected like other pre-billed transactions. Users can add, change, or delete fees if they have rights to do so. Each time a pre-bill is viewed, the fees will be refreshed based on the current WIP transactions, using the transaction cut-off date specified in Generate Statements when the pre-bill was created. Finalizing the pre-bill also refreshes the fees, so the final statement will be created based on current WIP transactions. |
| Summary |
The Summary option is used when you want the total fees to be billed on the statement but you do not want each individual transaction to print on the statement. Tip: Detail descriptions can be included when using the Summary Fee Format. |
| No Fees | The No Fees option is used when you do not want fees billed or shown on the statement. When this option is selected, all options in the Include box for fees become unavailable. |
Note: If you want to use drill-down capabilities when previewing draft statements, the Fee Format must be set to Standard or Info Only.
