The Timekeeper Levels option allows you to add, change or delete timekeeper level descriptions. The level is a user-defined label used for grouping similar types of timekeepers. For example, Level 1 could represent senior partners, Level 2 could represent partners, Level 3 could represent associates, etc. You might want to define separate levels for paralegals, secretaries, law clerks, staff, paraprofessionals, etc.
Timekeeper levels can be used for the following purposes:
- Setting up a client's default billing rate(s). For each client record, you have the option to define an hourly billing rate for each level of timekeeper. This is just one method of specifying default hourly billing rates.
- A beginning and ending timekeeper level can be specified when printing reports such as Timekeeper Productivity Report, Timekeeper Realization Report and Timekeeper Analysis Report.
- A summary of fee transactions can be included on billing statements that include the timekeeper level description. The Fee Recap option specified for the statement template determines the format of the information included in the recap.
Up to 9 timekeeper levels can be defined. Each description can have a maximum of 20 characters. Timekeeper level descriptions are optional.
