General Fee Format Cost/Payment Format Layouts

The Statement Templates window allows you to define statement templates. A statement template consists of the many formatting options used for a particular style of statement. The same statement template can be used for multiple clients. Changes made to a statement template affect all clients who use that template. There is no limit to the number of statement templates that can be defined.

For example, some timekeepers in your firm may prefer that their clients' statements include hours and amounts for each fee transaction whereas other timekeepers may prefer that their clients' statements include only amounts. You can set up separate statement templates for each situation and then assign the desired template to individual clients.

Clients are assigned statement templates on the Statement Options tab of the Client file in the Draft Template and Final Template fields. Each client is assigned a separate statement template for draft and final statements. This makes it easy to use a template with detailed information for draft statements that the timekeeper will review but summarized information for final statements that the client will receive.

When running statements, you can override any of the statement template options. This is done by using the Statement Template button on the Options tab of the Generate Statements program.
