The Configure Client Funds Integration window lets you designate how you want client funds to integrate and provides access to the GLS Accounts Table for defining which GLS accounts will be posted to.

Posting Methods The Primary posting method (By field) and Secondary posting method (Then field) for client funds integration are used to define how journal entries will be posted to GLS for a client funds deposit. If using a Secondary posting method, it must be different than the Primary posting method.

Note: Changing the posting method by modifying By or Then fields, and then clicking the GLS Accounts button displays a message asking you to confirm that you want to change the posting method and erase the existing accounts table. Selecting Yes will display a new GLS Accounts Table allowing the Primary and/or Secondary posting methods to be mapped to GLS accounts. Selecting No will reset the changes to the By and/or Then fields and open the previously defined GLS Accounts Table window. Selecting Cancel will return focus to the By or Then field that was changed without opening a GLS Accounts Table window.

Post Transactions

The Post Transactions section can be used to configure the integration for a client funds deposit. The journal entries can be posted to GLS by specifying a funds posting method using the following fields:

Posting Methods

Tabs3 can be configured to create journal entries for client funds deposits using either one or two of the following posting methods:

  • Single Debit/Credit
  • Client Category
  • Client Location
  • Primary Timekeeper
  • Secondary Timekeeper
  • Originating Timekeeper

The GLS Accounts button can be used to display a GLS Accounts Table for Client Funds window. This window allows you to map GLS accounts for the specified posting method.

Integration Note: GLS journal entries are configured for client funds deposits (client funds transactions with a Type of Deposit or Credit Card). Client funds transactions with a Type of Withdrawal use the same GLS accounts, but reverse the mappings (i.e., a credit journal entry is added to the Debit Account specified, and a debit entry is added to the Credit Account). Client funds transactions with a Type of Payment to Firm use the current Payment Allocation settings.
