| Client Funds Automatic Payment Tcodes |
Each client can be set up so that client funds payments to the firm are automatically generated based on work-in-process being billed. The payment to the firm automatically reduces the available client funds and creates a payment to pay the client's current charges.
The Fund Application option on the A/R & Fund Balances tab of the Client file includes the following automatic allocations in addition to Manual allocation:
Automatic Fee Payment
Automatic Expense Payment
Automatic Advance Payment
Automatic All (pays fees and costs)
When a client is configured for automatic payments to firm, the Fund Application specified in the Client file determines which payment tcode specified in Customization will be used for the payment description. Additionally, specifying payment tcodes in Customization is required for payments to firm to integrate with GLS (even when Tabs3 is not configured to integrate with GLS based on tcode). The payment tcode specified here does not control how the payment is applied. The payment is applied according to the Fund Application specified in the client file.
Note: The payment tcodes specified here are not used for payments generated by manual payments to firms. When using manual payments to firm, you can specify any tcode for the description because the Fund Application specified for the client funds transaction determines how the payment is applied. Furthermore, when using manual payments to firm, the default tcode is saved in the STI.INI file.
GLS Integration Note: When Tabs3 is configured to integrate with GLS, the
payment
posting method for all integrated payments must have a Debit Account, Credit Account, and Journal
specified in the GLS
Accounts Table for Payments in the GLS
Integration Setup program. A payment posting method without all GLS information will not post entries
to GLS when statements are final billed and updated.
If an automatic payment tcode is not specified, but GLS integration is configured for client funds, a warning message will be displayed when closing the Customization window. Leaving an automatic payment tcode blank may require manual GLS journal entries after the automatic payment is created.
