Changing Business Information
An individual can be a part of an organization. When an existing organization is selected in the Organization field of a contact, all business fields are automatically filled to match the business information from the organization contact.
If you change the business information for an individual contact that is associated with an organization, you will be given the option to change the organization instead so that changes can be made to any or all individuals associated with the organization. Otherwise, the change will be made only to the current record.
Individual contacts are able to inherit business field values from the associated organization contact. This allows you to update the business information for multiple contacts using a single contact. When business information for an organization contact is updated, an Update Associated Contacts window will be displayed. Use this window to confirm which associated contacts will be updated and which will remain unchanged. If any associated contacts are updated who are used as the Client Name, Contact Name, or Bill To Name field for any matter, the Confirm Contact Changes window will be displayed.
