Click the Send Email link from the Quick Clicks pane of Statement Manager or the Take Actions pane of the Statement Information window to open a new message window in the default email client with the selected statement attached.
The To: field of the new message will be automatically populated as follows:
- If the client has a single Bill To record that is configured with Email Statements selected, the specified email address in the Bill to record will be used for the To: field.
- If the client has multiple Bill To records that are configured to receive Email Statements, only the email address specified in the first Bill To record will be used for the To: field.
- If none of the Bill To records are configured to receive Email Statements, the default Email Address for the Matter Contact will be used for the To: field. If the email address field is blank, the To: field will not be populated in the new email message.
The Subject: field will be populated as follows:
-
If the Firm Name is specified in the Firm Information window of System Configuration, the Subject: field will default to:
“Your statement from <Firm Name> is attached”
-
If the Firm Name is not specified, the Subject: field will default to:
“Your statement is attached”
The Body of the email will default to:
“Your message is ready to be sent with the following file or link attachments:
<FileName>”
The statement will be reprinted using the Reprint Single Updated Statement program; however, no settings are displayed. The new file name will use the naming format of “<Client ID>_Stmt_<Stmt#>.pdf” and will be attached to the new email message.
Important: Using the Send Email link does not include a Payment Link in the email message. To include a link that allows a client to pay their statement online, use the Email Statements window.
Note: You must have a MAPI-compliant email application installed and working on your computer to send email through Tabs3 Billing.
Note: If you are using New Outlook for Windows, it must be set as your default email application in Windows. Additionally, New Outlook must be set as the default application for .EML and .MSG file types. See KB Article R11942, “New Outlook and Tabs3 Software,” for more information.
