Use this option when you want to assign default billing rates by level of timekeeper. Types allowed include Rate (Timekeeper Level Rate), Code (Timekeeper Level Code) or None. This field is optionally used to assist Tabs3 in determining the default billing rate to be used for each timekeeper when entering fee transactions.

None Enter None if you do not want to use either the Timekeeper Level Rate or the Timekeeper Level Code for determining the timekeepers' default billing rates for this client.
Rate

Enter Rate if you want to define timekeeper default billing rates by assigning a rate to each level of timekeeper. You will be prompted to enter a rate for each level of timekeeper (i.e., Levels 1-9). Each rate assigned can be a maximum of 9,999.99. If a rate of "0.00" is entered, then the Billing Rate Code from the Client file is used to determine the default billing rate.

A popup calculator is available when editing this field. The "<" and ">" keys can be used to increase or decrease the rate by one dollar at a time.

Code

Enter Code if you want to define timekeeper default billing rates by assigning a rate code to each level of timekeeper. You will be prompted to enter a rate code for each level of timekeeper (i.e., Levels 1-9). Each rate code assigned can be a number 0-9. Rate codes 0-9 are defined as follows:

0 Indicates that the Billing Rate Code from the Client file will be used to determine the default billing rate.
1-6 Indicates that the corresponding hourly billing rate from the timekeeper file will be used as the default billing rate (i.e., "1" refers to Hourly Rate 1 from the timekeeper file, "2" refers to Hourly Rate 2 from the timekeeper file, etc.).
7 Indicates that the Rate field from the transaction code file will be used as the default billing rate.
8 Indicates that Tabs3 will calculate the rate based on the Amount entered in the transaction code file.
9 Indicates that Tabs3 will use the Hourly Rate from the Client file as the default billing rate.
