Summary

Note: A client cannot be designated as a split matter or a main client for more than one file. If you select a client that is already used for Split Billing, a message will be displayed indicating that is the case.

Note: The main client will have its fees and costs split among the split matters when the Perform Split Billing program is run. If you want the main client to retain a percentage of the fees and costs, you must define a split matter using the Client ID of the main client. Otherwise, the transactions will be deleted from the main client's work-in-process when the Perform Split Billing program is run.

Note: All Type 0 (Normal) and Type 5 (Miscellaneous) billable transactions entered for the main client will be split among the designated split matters when the Perform Split Billing program is run unless the transactions are on hold. Thus, if you have transactions that you do not want split, you may want to put them on hold or transfer them to a separate file.
