| Contact Information |
The Contact Information panel of the Add New User wizard allows you to specify the basic contact information for the new user.
| Full Name |
The Full Name field allows a maximum of 255 characters. The Details button allows you to view/edit the contact’s name in the Name Details window as separate fields including First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and Initials. |
| Address |
The Address field consists of a selector, an address block, and a Details button. The Address Selector allows you to specify the default address type (e.g., “Home,” “Business,” etc) for the contact. Although only one address is entered when creating a user, the contact record allows you to store three separate addresses for each contact. To add additional addresses, open the Contact for the new user after completing the wizard. The address block allows you to enter an address in a freeform manner. For an address to be valid, the software must be able to determine the city, state, and zip code. If these fields cannot be determined, the Address Details window will be displayed for easy address entry. The Details button allows you to view/edit the address in the Address Details window as separate fields including Address Lines 1-3, City, State, Zip, and Country. |
| Phone Number |
The Phone Number field consists of a selector and a phone field. The Phone Selector allows you to specify the default phone number type (e.g., “Home,” “Business,” etc) for the contact. Although only one phone number is entered when creating a user, up to 19 phone numbers can be defined in the contact record. To add additional phone numbers, open the Contact for the new user after completing the wizard. The phone field allows a maximum of 31 characters. The area code, phone number, and extension are entered into the same field, and can be separated by any character. The area code and extension are optional. PracticeMaster Note: You may want to consider always using area codes. This will make it easier for those users that synchronize Outlook with mobile devices. All 31 characters entered in a phone field type will integrate with Outlook, regardless of the format used. However, if a phone number is edited in Outlook, it will synchronize back to PracticeMaster using Outlook's preferred "(402) 419-2200" format. |
|
The Email field allows you to specify the default email address for the contact. Although only one email address is entered when creating a user, up to three email addresses can be defined in the contact record. To add additional email addresses, open the Contact for the new user after completing the wizard. The email address field allows a maximum of 100 characters. |
The information on this panel is used to create a Contact which will be linked to the new user, unless the user is not a login user and is not a timekeeper, in which case the information will be stored in the User Configuration window in System Configuration.
Note: The new contact will be an Individual, with an Organization, Business Address, and Business Phone that matches the Firm Information in System Configuration.
The Next button can be used to move from panel to panel.
The Finish button will be shown when all of the user information has been entered.
The Cancel button will close the Add New User wizard without creating a user, discarding any changes.
