The Display | Outlines menu option on the Statement Designer right-click menu acts as a toggle and controls whether or not outlines are displayed around elements on the page layout to show the elements' boundaries.

When this option is turned, on a check mark is displayed to the left of the Outlines menu option. Each element will include a gray outline indicating its boundaries.

When this option is turned off, no check mark is displayed next to the Outlines menu option. Outlines will not be displayed for elements, except for those that are currently selected.

The Outlines option can be useful when you want to align several elements individually without causing them to encroach upon each other.
