This program allows you to merge billable and non-billable fees, costs, and credits from various data capture devices once the data has been converted into a Tabs3 format by a Tabs3 interface program. One of the various interface programs available is used to convert the data created by the data capture device so that it can be used by Tabs3. The Merge Data Capture Transactions program then merges the data into the Tabs3 data files. If you are integrating with General Ledger Software, GLS journal entries can be automatically created for cost transactions (provided the Import Cost Totals Only check box has been selected). Additionally, if integrated with QuickBooks using the QBXML format, entries can be posted to QuickBooks.
Note: The Merge Data Capture Transactions program requires a numeric Key Type for select data capture interface programs. If you want to use an Alpha or Mixed Key Type, an updated data capture interface program may be required. If you are planning on changing your Key Type, call Tabs3 Sales Department for pricing and availability of updated data capture interface programs.
The following option is available:
The OK button can be used to begin importing the transactions. The Merge Data Capture Transactions program will verify the transactions being merged with the main Tabs3 data files and reject any entries for which there are no corresponding clients, timekeepers, categories or transaction codes in the main Tabs3 data files. During the merge process, the number of data capture transactions being processed (Remote Count) and the number of new transactions added to the main Tabs3 data files (New Count) are displayed along with a count of rejected transactions (Error Count) if there are any.
If transactions were successfully merged into the Tabs3 data files, the program will prompt you to print a verification list. If fees and costs were merged, the program will prompt you to print a Fee Verification List followed by a Cost Verification List. If there were errors encountered during the merge, you will also be able to print a Tabs3 Error Report and/or a GLS Error Report.
While transactions are being merged, the Cancel button can be used to abort the merge process.
