The Conflict of Interest Check program allows you to perform a conflict of interest check using up to eight different search values. Wildcards and phonetic searching can be used. You can optionally include client information, contact information, client notes, transactions and the archive files in the search. A Conflict of Interest Report can be generated when conflicts are found.
The OK button can be used to begin the Conflict of Interest Check. Progress indicators will be displayed in the Status area showing the total records in the selected files and the number of records checked. The number of conflicts found will be displayed in the Conflicts column. You can abort the conflict of interest check by clicking the Cancel button.
The Report button can be used to print a report of any conflicts found. If conflicts are found, you can specify a Report Date and whether each text item should start on a new page, and then click Report to generate the Conflict of Interest Report. The Print dialog box will be displayed. The Conflict of Interest Report lists the line of information where the conflict was found and information on exactly where to find the specific occurrence. The Client ID, name, work description, file and field description for each client-related conflict are listed on the report. If the conflict was found in the Contact file, then the Contact ID, file, and field description for each contact will be listed on the report. If the conflict was found in the fee or cost files, the reference number where the conflict was found will also be given. The aforementioned information is shown on the report even if the user does not have access rights to the files in which the information is found. However, if information is found in a secure client and the user does not have rights to the secure client, only the Client ID and an indicator of "*** Secure Client ***" will be shown. If a conflict is found in a transaction for an unassigned timekeeper, the message "Insufficient Timekeeper Rights" will be shown.
Note: When you return to the Conflict of Interest Check window, the specified files and search values of the previous search will be displayed. This allows you to verify the values used for the previous search and easily modify those values for additional searches.
The Cancel button can be used to close the Conflict of Interest Check window.
Note: A maximum of 100,000 conflicts will be displayed before the Conflict of Interest Check will stop searching. If this maximum is reached, consider further restricting your search.
Note: The record count under the Checked and Total columns include each field that is conflict searched within a record. For example, the Client file searches both the Client name and all Bill To records, so the record count may be higher than the number of clients stored in Tabs3.
