Maximum of 99,999,999.99. An optional amount can be entered for fee, cost, and progress fee transaction codes (Type 0, Type 5, and Type 6 tcodes). For example, when value billing, you may want to charge a standard fee amount for a particular fee transaction such as preparation of a simple will. Likewise, a cost transaction may have a fixed charge. The transaction code Amount may be invoked when desired at the time a fee or cost transaction record is entered. This is accomplished by entering a Rate Code of "8" when using the Fee or Cost files.

Note: When entering a cost transaction code in the Fee or Cost file, if the transaction code is assigned a Rate other than "0.000," then the Rate Code will be set to "7." If the transaction code has an Amount other than "0.00" and a Rate of "0.000", then the default Rate Code will be set to "8."
