... or ...
- Open the Payment Adjustment program (Maintenance | Transaction Related | Payment Adjustment).
- Select the payment transaction associated with the Tabs3 Pay payment.
- Select to perform a Reversal (crediting the entire amount of the payment) or Refund (crediting an unallocated portion of the payment).
- Select a Date of Adjustment for the Tabs3 Billing payment. (Note that this date is not used for the date of the credit in the Tabs3 Pay system. The current system date is used.)
- Click OK to perform the adjustment/credit.
Note: Tabs3 Billing attempts to Void a credit card transaction first. Normally, a Void can only be processed the same business day.
If a credit card transaction cannot be voided, Tabs3 Billing will then attempt to credit the transaction. Tabs3 Pay transactions can normally be credited for up to 180 days on the Tabs3 Pay system. After that time, Tabs3 Billing may not be able to process the transaction, and a message will be displayed. In this case, the payment will not be adjusted, and manual adjustments may be required. Beyond 180 days, it is recommended that a check is processed for the credit, either manually or using Tabs3 Accounts Payable.
Caution: In the event you need to restore from a backup, it is important to realize that restoring Tabs3 Billing data does not affect any existing Tabs3 Pay transactions. Therefore, any credit card activity that has occurred since the backup you are restoring was made will still be present in the Tabs3 Pay system, but not in Tabs3 Billing. When reentering credit card transactions or performing payment adjustments again, you will need to avoid creating duplicate Tabs3 Pay transactions by selecting the option not to link the transaction to Tabs3 Pay.
