| Background Pages |
When creating or modifying page layouts in the Statement Designer, background pages allow you to combine multiple page layouts to save time and disk space. Rather than recreating the same common elements for each page layout, you can use the Background 1 and Background 2 fields in the Page Layout Properties dialog box to specify other existing page layouts to be combined with the current page layout.
For example, suppose you create a page layout called "Base", which has a horizontal line across the page layout near the bottom, with the statement date at the bottom left corner and the page number at the bottom right corner. You can use the "Base" page layout as the basis for other page layouts.
To
use background pages in a page layout:
- Click the
button at the top left corner of the page layout to open the Page Layout Properties dialog box.
...or...
Double-click the page layout in the space between the elements to open the Page Layout Properties dialog box. - Select the Background 1 or Background 2 field, and click the drop-down button.
- From the list that appears, select a page layout to be used as a background page for the current page layout.
Note: Elements contained in background pages cannot be edited in the current page layout. Instead, if you need to change the properties or position of an element contained in a background page, select the page layout being used as a background page and edit it directly.
