| Setting up a Default Debit and Credit QuickBooks Account for a Transaction Code |
To
set up a default debit and credit account for a transaction code
- From the Tabs3 menu bar, select File, point to Open and then select Miscellaneous.
- Click the Tcode tab.
-
For each transaction code that will be integrating with QuickBooks, specify the default QuickBooks Debit Acct and QuickBooks Credit Acct as desired.
Note: The Integrate with QuickBooks check box must be selected for the QuickBooks Debit Acct and QuickBooks Credit Acct fields to be available.
- Close the Transaction Code file.
Note: When integrating with QuickBooks using the QBXML format, the QuickBooks Credit Acct field will not be available for cost transaction codes. This is because cost transactions will always post the credit journal entry to the Accounts Payable account.
Payments Note: When a payment is entered into Tabs3, General Journal Entries are created in QuickBooks; the actual payment is not integrated. For this reason, it is recommended to only integrate payment transaction codes with QuickBooks if the actual payments will not be entered directly into QuickBooks. If you enter a payment in QuickBooks and create the QuickBooks General Journal Entries for Tabs3 payments, this would cause double posting.
Note: The name of the QuickBooks Account cannot exceed 31 characters.
