When you enable LawPay® integration, you are required to select a firm-level merchant account. Additional merchant accounts can be configured for individual locations, and/or for individual timekeepers. At least one merchant account must be configured for credit card processing to occur.

When multiple merchant accounts have been defined, Tabs3 will use the client’s information to determine which merchant account to use to process the credit card transaction.

Note: See the Merchant Account Types topic for more information regarding Firm, Location, and Timekeeper merchant accounts, and how Tabs3 determines which account to use.

   To configure additional merchant accounts

  3. Click the Add button to open the LawPay Account Setup window.
  4. In the LawPay Account field, select the LawPay account you want to use. If you want to add another LawPay Account, click the Add new LawPay account link to open the LawPay window.

Warning: The same Merchant Account configuration is used for both Tabs3 Payments and Client Funds transactions. Therefore, be aware that deposits will be made to the same bank account for both types of transactions.

Credit Card Processing for Client Funds Deposits is designed for use with non-refundable amounts. You must use Tabs3 Trust Accounting (Trust) if you need to accept credit card transactions for LawPay trust bank accounts.
