Maximum of 999,999,999.99 or -99,999,999.99. Enter an amount in the Debit or Credit column to indicate whether the journal entry is a debit entry or a credit entry. An amount cannot be entered for both columns.

After the first journal entry row, each subsequent journal entry will automatically default to the amount required to balance the transaction. For example, if the first journal entry has 250.00 in the Debit column, the next row will automatically default to 250.00 in the Credit column. If you change the amount for the second journal entry from 250.00 to 150.00, then the next row will automatically default to 100.00 in the Credit column.

Note: The Debit or Credit amount cannot be changed if the journal entry has a Status of Cleared or Reconciled, or the journal entry is included on a Deposit Slip.
