Select a source for the rules in the fee compensation rules table.

Custom Select the Custom option if you want to define new fee compensation rules from scratch and do not want to share a fee compensation rules table or use an existing client's fee compensation rules table as a basis for the new fee compensation rules table.
Shared Select the Shared option if you want to set up a shared fee compensation rules table. A shared fee compensation rules table uses another client's fee compensation rules table. You cannot edit the fee compensation rules unless you edit the fee compensation rules table for the shared client. If you select Shared, you will be able to specify the Table to Use.

Note: Clients who have been assigned a shared fee compensation rules table are noted as such on the Fee Compensation Rules Report. The name and work descriptions of the client with the shared table is also printed on the report.

Use Existing Table

Select the Use Existing Table option if you want to define new fee compensation rules based on an existing fee compensation rules table. If you select this option, you will be asked to specify the Table to Use as a default for this client. Once the Table to Use is specified, Tabs3 copies that client's fee compensation rules table to the current client's fee compensation rules table. You can then edit the displayed fee compensation rules as desired. Any editing performed affects the current fee compensation rules table only, not the table for the client specified in the Table to Use field.

Once the current fee compensation rules table is saved, it is not possible to determine whether another client's fee compensation rules table was used as a basis for the fee compensation rules table. This is because once saved, the next time the client's Fee Compensation Rules Table window is viewed, the Custom option will be shown for the client.

Note: When sharing or using an existing table, secure clients will not be included unless the User ID selecting the Table to Use has manager rights or has been assigned access to the secure client.

Note: Fee compensation rules that include a statement date range can only be defined for clients whose Receipt Allocation by Invoice check box is selected. If a date range is defined, the dates are ignored when shared with a client whose Receipt Allocation by Invoice check box is cleared.
