| Notes about Creating Validation Files |
Validation records for inactive clients are created.
As soon as the new Tabs3 Billing Remote validation files are copied to the remote workstation, you can run the Data File Integrity Check program in Tabs3 Billing Remote to verify the integrity of the new validation files.
If Tabs3 Billing Remote data files and Tabs3 Billing data files reside in the same directory, make sure all remote users exit the remote software before creating the Tabs3 Billing Remote validation files.
When creating transaction code validation files for a data capture device, a message will be displayed indicating that text was truncated for each transaction code with a description that exceeds 20 lines.
When creating a validation file for the client file, records for all clients will be created. However, if a client is designated as a secure client, all alpha fields in the record will be exported as blank.
Platinum Note: When using the Platinum edition of the software to create Tabs3 Billing Remote validation files, create a subfolder under the current working directory to use as an intermediate exchange directory. When specifying the directory, use a relative path. For example, using Windows Explorer, create a subfolder named "Remote" under the Current Working Directory. Then, when you create the validation files, select the Remote directory by typing “Remote\”. Tabs3 Billing will write the data files to the Remote folder under the program directory. Once created, you can manually transfer the files to the desired location.
Specifying an intermediate exchange directory is not necessary if using the Platinum edition of the software to create Data Capture Device validation files.
