Enter the hard drive letter and/or path where the files will be created. If the files need to be created on a separate computer that is not networked, you can create the files on the Tabs3 computer or a flash drive and then transfer the files to the other computer. Leave the field blank if the files need to be created in the Tabs3 directory.

If the path is not left blank, the path name must end with a `:' or a `\'. The colon follows a drive letter and the `\' follows a directory name. If a path is specified that does not exist, you will be asked if you want to create the path.

The button can be used to open a window allowing you to choose a specific directory.

After you have entered the path, Tabs3 calculates and displays the amount of free space available on the disk drive specified in the Validation File Path.

Platinum Note: When using the Platinum edition of the software to create Tabs3 Billing Remote validation files, create a subfolder under the current working directory to use as an intermediate exchange directory. When specifying the directory, use a relative path. For example, using Windows Explorer, create a subfolder named "Remote" under the current working directory. Then, when you create the validation files, select the Remote directory by typing “Remote\”. Tabs3 will write the data files to the Remote folder under the program directory. Once created, you can manually transfer the files to the desired location.

Specifying an intermediate exchange directory is not necessary if using the Platinum edition of the software to create Data Capture Device validation files.
