When entering a new client, you can use this field to enter the amount for a client's credit balance. The amount in the Unapplied Payments field must be entered as a positive amount.

The Unapplied Payments field shows the processed regular payments (Type 1) in excess of the fees, expenses, advances and finance charge due. This amount will be applied to the next statement that is billed and updated.

Excess processed fee payments (Type 2) are stored as a credit amount under Fees Due. Excess processed cost payments (Type 3) are stored as a credit amount under Expenses Due or Advances Due.

Note: This field cannot be edited for clients who already have an accounts receivable balance (i.e., clients who have a client ledger record).
