Maximum of 3 characters. The alpha code can be used to select the transaction code during data entry. Duplicate alpha codes are not allowed. Numeric characters are allowed; however, you cannot use a zero or all numeric characters in the Alpha Code field. Lowercase characters will automatically be changed to uppercase characters. The alpha code is not required; you can leave it blank if desired.
QuickBooks Note: Changes made to the Alpha Code field will require making the same changes in the Class Name.
