| Calculation of the Amount Due |
The method used to determine the amount due for each matter depends on the type of payment. If the payment is a regular payment (Type 1 transaction code), then the entire amount due for each matter is included in the calculation of the amount due. If the payment is a fee payment (Type 2 transaction code), then only the fees for each matter are included in the calculation of the amount due. If the payment is an expense payment (Type 3 transaction code with a Transaction Type of Expense), then only expenses for each matter are included in the calculation of the amount due. Finally, if the payment is an advance payment (Type 3 transaction code with a Transaction Type of Advance), then only advances for each matter are included in the calculation of the amount due.
Note: When Tabs3 calculates the balance due for each matter, only billed fees and costs are included; work-in-process fees and costs are not included in the balance due. However, work-in-process payments are included in the balance due calculation. Matters with credit balances are not included.
