| GLS Date Restrictions |
Journal Entry Date Restrictions can be set up in GLS to determine how many days in the future or in the past journal entries are allowed to be entered for, as well as a date through which books are closed. When integrating with Tabs3, dates entered must pass the GLS Date Restrictions or a message will be displayed.
The following options can be specified in the Edit GLS Client program:
Restrict Journal Entries to xxx Days in the Future
...and...
Restrict Journal Entries to xxx Days in the Past
Entering a number of days in the future or in the past will restrict users without rights to save journal entries with dates outside of this range.
Managers and users with access rights to Bypass Journal Entry Date Restrictions will be allowed to override this restriction. These users will receive a warning message asking if they are sure they want to use this date.
Date through which books are closed
Entering a date for which you no longer want journal entries posted restricts all users from saving journal entries with a prior date.
This option applies to all users including managers and users with access rights to Bypass Journal Entry Date Restrictions. All users will be prompted to choose a different date.
