This option only applies to task based billing clients and is used for clients who were originally entered as non-task based billing clients. Once a client is changed to task based billing, any work-in-process fees and costs need to be changed so that they have both a Phase/Task code and an Activity or Expense code instead of just a transaction code.

Select the Convert Tcode to Task Code check box if you want to change the transaction code to separate Phase/Task codes and Activity or Expense codes for work-in-process fee and cost transactions. The following options will then be available:

Old Tcode

Maximum of 3 digits (1-999) or 3 characters. Enter the transaction code that you want to change. For example, if you want to change the transaction code on WIP transactions from "29" to Phase/Task code "PA220" and Activity code "A110", enter "29" in this field.

The button can be used to open the Tcode Lookup window that allows you to view a list of transaction codes and select a transaction code by double-clicking it.

New Phase/Task

Maximum of 5 characters. Enter the new Phase/Task code you want used on the transactions. For example, if you want to change the transaction code on WIP transactions from "29" to Phase/Task code "PA220" and Activity code "A110", enter "PA220" in this field.

The button can be used to open the Task Code Lookup window that allows you to view a list of task codes and select any task code by double-clicking it.

New Activity/Expense

Maximum of 5 characters. Enter the new Activity or Expense code you want used on the transactions. For example, if you want to change the transaction code on WIP transactions from "29" to Phase/Task code "PA220" and Activity code "A110", enter "A110" in this field.

The button can be used to open the Task Code Lookup window that allows you to view a list of task codes and select any task code by double-clicking it.

Note: Description fields matching the default description for the Old Tcode will be changed to the default description for the New Activity/Expense code. Non-matching descriptions will be retained.

Note: Rates and amounts for the Old Tcode will not be updated for the New Activity/Expense code.

Note: You will not be able to enter an Activity code in the New Activity/Expense field if the Old Tcode field contains a cost transaction code. Instead, you must specify an Expense code in the New Activity/Expense field if the Old Tcode field contains a cost transaction code.

Note: GL integration does not occur when converting tcodes to task codes.
