| Insert Zeros |
Select Beginning or End. This option determines how existing Client IDs are affected when the Decimal Places is changed. This option is not available with a Key Type of Alpha.
| Beginning | When increasing the Decimal Places, select Beginning if you want to add zeros to the beginning of the decimal digits. For example, Client ID 488.75 will become 488.075. When decreasing the Decimal Places, select Beginning if you want to remove digits from the beginning of the decimal digits. For example, Client ID 488.075 will become 488.75. |
| End | When increasing the Decimal Places, select End if you want to add zeros to the end of the decimal digits. For example, Client ID 488.75 will become 488.750. When decreasing the Decimal Places, select End if you want to remove digits from the end of the decimal digits. For example, Client ID 488.750 will become 488.75. |
Note: Tabs3 will not allow certain renumbering situations to occur due to the possibility of duplicate or inaccessible Client IDs. For example, if you attempt to change the Decimal Places from 3 to 2 and select to remove digits from the beginning of the decimal digits, Tabs3 checks to make sure that the single digit being removed is equal for all clients. For example, if the single digit being removed for all clients is "0," then Tabs3 will perform the renumbering. However, if any client has a different value for that digit, a warning will be displayed and you will not be allowed to renumber using the specified parameters. In certain situations such as these, it may be possible to renumber the clients that are different before attempting to change the Key Type.
