| Using an "In Care of..." or "c/o" Line |
When you need to use an "In Care of" or "c/o" line on the statement, you have a couple of options.
- Option 1 - Use the client's Other address to include the "In Care of" line in Address Line 1 and set the address selector to Other. This method is especially useful when the "In Care of" is for short term. When using this method, clear the Include Attention line on statement check box for the Bill To record to prevent the Attn: line from printing. Keep in mind that this address will synchronize to PracticeMaster and Outlook.
- Option 2 - Use the client's Business or Home address to include the "In Care of" line as Address Line 1. When using this method, clear the Include Attention line on statement check box for the Bill To record to prevent the Attn: line from printing. Keep in mind that this address will synchronize to PracticeMaster and Outlook.
- Option 3 - Edit the client's Bill To record to select the Include Attention line on statement, select the Other option for the Attention line, and then enter the "c/o ....." line for the Other attention line.
- Option 4 - If the "In Care of" line is standard for all matters, you can change the "Attn:" line in Line 2 of Statement Terminology from "Attn:" to "In Care of " or "c/o ". However, this terminology change will affect statements for all clients.
Note: The Include Attention line on statement check box in the Bill To record controls whether an Attn: line is printed and whether it uses the Contact Name or other specified name. When selected, the label for the Attention line is retrieved from Line 2 of Statement Terminology.
Note: By default, the Attn: line prints below the client name. If you want the Attn: line to print above the client name, enter a "+" character in the first position of Line 2 in Statement Terminology (i.e., "+Attn:").
