The status bar is shown at the bottom of the main application window. Various messages and indicators are shown depending on which system is being used and the status of the system. The Status Bar is always shown and cannot be disabled.

The left side of the status bar is used to display descriptions of menu selections and graphical buttons when the mouse pointer is positioned over a menu selection or button. Different messages may also be displayed on the left side of the status bar at various times. In Tabs3 General Ledger (GL), the status bar shows the name of the current GL client. In PracticeMaster, optional user defined help for individual fields in the files is shown on the left side of the status bar.

The right side of the status bar includes the following indicators.

All Systems Starting from the far right, indicators show the current system time, whether Num Lock is on (NUM), and whether Caps Lock is on (CAP).
Tabs3 Billing, PracticeMaster, Trust & AP

In Tabs3 Billing, PracticeMaster, Tabs3 Trust Accounting (Trust), and Tabs3 Accounts Payable (AP), an additional indicator left of the Caps Lock indicator shows whether Insert Mode or Overtype Mode (INS or OVR) is being used in rich text fields, and the word MACRO indicates whether the Auto Text Expansion feature for text macros is enabled.

A Record Count indicator is shown to the left of the MACRO indicator. When multiple records are selected, this area will display the text "Selected:" followed by a count of the number of records currently selected.
Tabs3 Billing & PracticeMaster

In Tabs3 Billing and PracticeMaster, an additional Synchronization indicator left of the MACRO indicator will be shown when the two systems are integrated. This indicator will show PM PENDING (Tabs3 Billing), T3 PENDING (PracticeMaster), or will be blank. T3 PENDING or PM PENDING indicates synchronization changes are pending and will automatically be made as soon as the other system allows it. No additional action is required by the user; the T3 PENDING or PM PENDING status simply indicates that changes made in one system could not be synchronized to the other system for some reason such as an exclusive task was being performed.

A Record Count indicator is shown to the left of the Synchronization indicator. When multiple records are selected, this area will display the text "Selected:" followed by a count of the number of records currently selected.

PracticeMaster

In PracticeMaster, there are four additional indicators.

A Mode indicator left of the synchronization indicator will be shown. This indicator is shown in an Editor window and indicates the data entry status. The Mode indicator will show ADD, CHANGE, DISPLAY, LIST or READONLY. ADD indicates a new record is being added. CHANGE indicates an existing record is being changed. DISPLAY indicates records are being displayed or browsed. LIST indicates the List tab is shown allowing you to select a record. READONLY indicates the record can be viewed but not edited, such as the Client Notes record from Tabs3 Billing in the PracticeMaster journal file.

An Index indicator is shown to the right of the Record Count indicator. This will display INDEXING any time PracticeMaster is updating a search index. Search index settings can be configured in PracticeMaster via the Search Settings program (Search | Search Settings).

An Outlook Synchronization indicator is shown left of the Index indicator. The Outlook Synchronization indicator will show Synchronizing PracticeMaster and Outlook, Trimming Outlook Synchronization Log, Synchronization Warnings Were Encountered, Outlook Synchronization Suspended, or a blank status. See Status Bar: Outlook Synchronization Status for more detailed information on synchronization status messages.
