| Beginning Statement Number |
Maximum of 9 digits (0-999999999). This option is only available if Tabs3 has been configured to number statements at the Firm level on the Options tab of Tabs3 Customization. The default Beginning Statement Number is the highest statement number used plus "1." Statement numbers are not saved when draft statements are run. When selecting the beginning statement number for draft statements, simply accept the default.
Last Numbers Used: The last statement numbers used (both beginning and ending) will be displayed.
Every time a final statement run is completed (regardless of whether it is updated), Tabs3 saves the beginning and ending statement numbers and updates the default Beginning Statement Number.
The statement numbers print on the Pre-Update Statements Report, Update Statements Verification List, the Client Ledger Report, the Accounts Receivable by Invoice Report and statements. Additionally, a client can be selected by specifying a statement number when entering payments (provided Tabs3 has been configured to number statements at the firm level).
Network Note: If you are configured to number statements at the firm level and you have multiple users running final statements, Tabs3 will prevent duplicate statement numbers from being used. Because of this, statements printed by one user may not be in sequential order. For example, if two users are printing statements simultaneously, one user may have statements numbered 1000, 1001, 1003, 1005 and the other user may have statements numbered 1002, 1004, 1006.
Note: The Beginning Statement Number field is unavailable and the "Last Numbers Used" line is not shown if Tabs3 has been configured to number statements at the Client level.
Note: If a higher Beginning Statement Number is accidentally entered, such as 10,000 instead of 1,000, and a final statement is run, it may be desirable to reset the default statement number back to a lower number. For instructions on resetting the default statement number, see Knowledge Base Article R10956, "All About Statement Numbering."
