This property is unique to the label fields: Work Description | Re: (@ReLabel) and Attention Line | Attn:(@attentionLabel). If these fields are used on the page layout, they prevent the Work Description field (DESC) and the Attention Line field (@attentionLine), respectively, from printing when the client's work description or contact is blank or suppressed (i.e., the Work Description field contains an asterisk as the first character or the Include Attention line on statement check box is cleared, preventing it from being included on a statement).

This optional property lets you print alternative text on statements in place of the label when the field corresponding to the label is empty or suppressed. For example, if you want an asterisk (*) to appear rather than having no label and no work description or contact information on the statement, enter an asterisk for the Blank String property. Leave this property blank if you want no label to appear on the statement when the client's work description or contact is blank or suppressed.

In some instances, when aligning the elements on the page layout, you may want the width of the label field to be narrow when the client's work description or contact is included on the statement, and wider when the work description or contact is blank suppressed. To do this, simply place two instances of the label field on the page layout. For example, the first instance might have the text "RE:" entered for the Label String property, and would have no Blank String entered. The second instance would have no Label String entered and might have the text "Confidential" entered for the Blank String property. Thus, for statements that include the client's work description, the first instance of the label (i.e., "RE:") would print and the second would not. For statements that do not include the client's work description, the second instance of the label (i.e., "Confidential") would print and the first would not.
