To set up the integration between Tabs3 Billing and Trust:

  1. Make sure Trust is installed in the same directory as Tabs3 Billing.
  2. From the Tabs3 Billing menu bar, select Utilities and then Customization.
  3. Click the Other Systems tab and select the Integrate with Tabs3 Trust Accounting check box.
  4. Answer the remaining questions regarding Trust Integration.

Next, the following must be set up in Trust Customization:

  1. Integration with Tabs3 Billing must be enabled in Trust Customization.
  2. The Trust Key Type and Decimal Places must be identical to the Tabs3 Key Type and Decimal Places.
In order for Trust to generate and automatically post a payment to Tabs3 Billing, payment transaction code numbers must be entered in the appropriate transaction code fields in the Trust Bank Account file. Separate payment transaction codes can be entered for regular payments, fee payments, expense payments and advance payments.
The client must have a bank account associated with the trust account in the Trust Account window.
In order for trust information to print on Tabs3 Billing statements, a Tabs3 Billing client must have its Trust Integration option set to Summary or Detail. The trust transactions that will appear on the statement for the Detail option are the transactions that have a date greater than the client's last statement date through the current Tabs3 Billing statement date.
In order for the Tabs3 Billing statement to include a message indicating that an amount must be remitted to replenish the client's trust account, the trust account's "Tabs3 Amount to Bill" field or "Tabs3 Target Balance" field in the Trust Account file must contain an amount greater than zero. Also, the trust account's "Current Trust Balance" must be less than the "Desired Minimum Balance."
