Maximum of 9 digits (0-999999999). This field is optional. The default for this field is 0 or the previous journal entry's check number. The Check # field will map to the QuickBooks Entry No. field. Leave this field 0 if you want QuickBooks to automatically assign the Entry No.
The "<" and ">" keys can be used to back up or advance to a different check number one at a time.
Note: In order for QuickBooks to assign the Entry No., QuickBooks must be configured to do so. In QuickBooks, select Edit | Preferences | Accounting. On the Company Preferences tab, select the Automatically assign general journal entry number check box.
