Total Advances is used to label the subtotal for advances. The date codes "\S", "\B" and "\E" can be used anywhere in the text to print the respective date specified (i.e., "\S" = Statement Date, "\B" = Beginning Cost Date and "\E" = Ending Cost Date). The format "MM/DD/YYYY" is used for the date codes. You can increment or decrement the date by adding the number of days you want to increment after the date code, or adding a minus sign (-) and the number of days you want to decrement after the date code. For example, "\S30" would increment the date by 30 days and "\S-30" would decrement the date by 30 days. The "\#" code can be used anywhere in the text to print the Client ID. The code "\%" can be used anywhere in the text to print the courtesy discount percentage. Maximum of 60 characters.

Enter only an "*" in this field (first character position) if you want both expenses and advances combined into one total on the statement. The total for the combined expenses and advances will be printed; the individual subtotals for expenses and advances will not be printed. The label used on the statement for the combined expenses and advances is the text in the Total Expenses line (Line 26). The Expense Format for the Statement Template is used for the combined expenses and advances.

When only an "*" is entered in this field, expense credits and advance credits will also be combined as a separate line item. The label used on the statement for the combined expense credits and advance credits is the text in the Total Credits for Expenses line (Line 30).

Notes: When expenses and advances are combined on statements, the individual totals are maintained when updated to accounts receivable.

When expenses and advances are combined, expense credits and advance credits are also combined on the statement.

If you combine expenses and advances and use the detail cover statement option, you may want to edit the "Expenses" column heading terminology for the cover statement on the Cover Stmt tab of Statement Customization.

If you use the "\E" date code on this line and you also use the Summary or Tcode Subtotal Only Advance Format Code for clients, you may want to blank out the "thru" line (Line 29). Otherwise, the Ending Cost Date will print twice.

If this line includes the "\B" or "\E" date code and no beginning cost date or ending cost date is specified when statements are run, nothing will be printed for the date.
