The Discount Type field is used for defining a courtesy discount on fees for individual clients. Discounts can be given as a percentage of fees or a flat amount.

None No courtesy discount will be given.
Percentage A percentage of the fees billed will be given as a courtesy discount when the statement is updated. When Percentage is selected, you are allowed to specify a Percent for the discount.
Amount A specific amount will be given as a courtesy discount when the statement is updated. When Amount is selected, you are allowed to specify an Amount for the discount.

Note: You cannot edit the Discount Type or Percent/Amount fields if final statements have been run but have not yet been updated.
