| Statement Width |
The Statement Width determines the width of the widest printable line on the statement in columns. A column is a horizontal width unit. This width can be calculated automatically or you can specify a fixed width. The default Statement Width is Automatic 100%.
| Automatic | When this option is selected, Tabs3 automatically calculates the statement width (in columns) by dividing the distance between the margins by the "average" character width of the Normal Font specified. The width will never be less than 73 columns. Unlike the Automatic option in the report printing routine used by Tabs3 (where the font size is calculated based on the report width), the Automatic function for statements calculates the column width for the statement based on the "average" character width of the Normal Font specified. If 12pt Arial is specified, then 12pt Arial will be used. | |
| Percent Adjustment | This option is only available when the Automatic option is specified. Minimum of 50% and maximum of 150%. The default Percent Adjustment is 100%, which indicates no adjustment. You can use this option to adjust the calculated number of columns. Values greater than 100% will result in tighter spacing (i.e., less white space, more overlaps). For example, at 100% you may have 100 columns printed whereas at 105% you will have 105 columns printed; however, the font size remains the same. Values less than 100% will result in looser spacing (i.e., wider gaps between columns). The column width of the report decreases which means wider individual columns. We recommend using a trial and error approach to determine what Percent Adjustment works best for your statements. | |
| Fixed | When this option is selected, you will be allowed to specify the desired statement width in the Columns text box. The width of the transactions' descriptions will be reformatted to fit the available width. | |
| Columns | This option is only available if the Fixed option is specified. Columns refers to a horizontal width unit. The number of columns specified must be between 73 and 256. The default is 73. | |
Note: Reference numbers on draft statements will print one column to the right of the right margin and will always be visible in the Preview window.
