Selecting Text

 

Selecting text refers to highlighting a portion of the text. You can cut, copy, delete or format selected text. The method used to select text varies depending on whether you are using the mouse or the keyboard.

  To Select Text Using the Mouse

• Click and hold down the left mouse button until you have dragged across the desired text. When selecting multiple words in rich text fields, you'll notice that text is selected word by word instead of character by character. Once the desired text is selected, release the left mouse button.
• Double-clicking selects an entire word.
• Triple-clicking selects an entire paragraph.

 

  To Select Text Using the Keyboard

• Hold down the shift key in combination with the cursor keys to select text.
• Ctrl+A selects all text.
