The last active matter is the matter in a numerical sequence for a client that has the highest matter number and does not have the Inactive check box selected. For example, if you have active clients 224.00, 224.01, and 224.02, then 224.02 is the last active matter. As another example, if you have clients JONES.01, JONES.02, and JONES.05, but JONES.05 is marked inactive, then JONES.02 is the last active matter. As another example, if you are using an Alpha Key Type and you have active clients SMITH.99C, SMITH.2000D, and SMITH.98B, then SMITH.2000D is the last active matter.
