| Source |
Select a source for the rates in the fee rate table.
| Custom | Select the Custom option if you want to define a new fee rate table from scratch and do not want to share a fee rate table or use an existing client's fee rate table as a basis for the new fee rate table. |
| Shared | Select the Shared option if you want to set up a shared fee rate table. A shared fee rate table uses another client's fee rate table. You cannot edit the timekeepers or rates unless you edit the fee rate table for the shared client. If you select Shared, you will be able to specify the Table to Use. |
Note: Clients who have been assigned a shared fee rate table are noted as such on the Client Rate Report. The name of the client with the shared table is also printed on the report.
| Use Existing Table | Select the Use Existing Table option if you want to define a new fee rate table based on an existing fee rate table. If you select this option, you will be asked to specify the Table to Use as a default for this client. Once the Table to Use is specified, Tabs3 copies that client's fee rate table to the current client's fee rate table. You can then edit the displayed timekeeper(s) and rates as desired. Any editing performed affects the current fee rate table only, not the table for the client specified in the Table to Use field. |
| Once the current fee rate table is saved, it is not possible to determine whether another client's fee rate table was used as a basis for the fee rate table. This is because once saved, the next time the client's Fee Rate Table window is viewed, the Custom option will be shown for the client. |
