You may need to make additional changes if you use the following software:
-
Tabs3 Billing: If you are using Tabs3 Billing, you may also need to change the firm’s name, address, and/or phone number that is used on the statement. Where this information is stored depends on how your firm is configured for statements.
- If your firm uses pre-printed stationery, then no change is necessary in Tabs3 Billing.
- If your firm uses the standard heading lines, this information can be changed on the Headings tab of the Statement Customization program in Tabs3 Billing (Statements | Statement Setup | Statement Customization).
- If your firm uses Statement Designer, this information can be changed for each statement template in Tabs3 Billing (Statements | Statement Setup | Statement Designer). Templates that use the firm information variables (e.g., @firmName, @firmAddress, @firmFullAddr, etc.) will not require modifications because these values are retrieved from the Firm Information file in System Configuration.
- If your firm uses a letterhead bitmap, this bitmap file may need to be edited or recreated depending on the change required and who created the bitmap for you. Tabs3 Billing includes two different areas where bitmaps can be used.
- In Tabs3 Billing, select File | Print Setup and then click Statement Setup. If a letterhead bitmap is being used, the Bitmap check box will be selected.
- In Tabs3 Billing, select Statements | Statement Setup | Statement Designer. Any statement template could use a bitmap that may need modified.
- Tabs3 General Ledger: If you are using Tabs3 General Ledger, change the GL client’s name (Utilities | Edit GLS Client).
- Tabs3 Billing Remote: If you are using Tabs3 Billing Remote, change the firm’s name in Tabs3 Billing Remote Customization (Utilities | Customization).
-
Note: Because the firm’s name is stored in memory when the software is started, users must restart any other Tabs3 Software that was open when the firm name was changed in System Configuration in order for the change to take effect. For example, the firm’s name is shown in the title bar in Tabs3 Billing. The new firm name will not be displayed until Tabs3 Billing is restarted.
Platinum Note: When a change to the firm name is made in the Platinum edition of the software, all users must exit Tabs3 Software before the change will apply to the Tabs3 Software report headings. This is because the firm name is stored in memory when the report accelerators are loaded and will not be refreshed until after all users have exited the software.
