| Which Files To Restore |
If the Archive Integrity Check shows errors that cannot be resolved, it is necessary to restore from a backup. In some situations, it may be possible to restore just the archive files as opposed to all of the Tabs3 data files.
If the Tabs3 Data File Integrity Check, PracticeMaster Data File Integrity Check and TAS Data File Integrity Check show no errors, AND none of the following programs in Tabs3 have been run since the back up, it is possible that you can restore just the T3ARCH.DAT and T3ARCH.IDX files. However, if any of the following programs in Tabs3 have been run since the backup was made, you must restore all Tabs3 data files.
Delete a Client
Delete a Range of Clients
Update Statements
Undo Single Updated Statement
Undo Multiple Updated Statements
Payment Adjustment (Reversal or Refund)
Renumber Programs
Change Key Type
Transfer A/R
If you aren't sure whether any of the above programs were run, you can check the date of the archive files that have the problem (i.e., T3ARCH.DAT and T3ARCH.IDX). If these files have a date greater than the date of your backup, this indicates that one or more of the above programs were run and you must restore all Tabs3 data files.
If you use the Restore Data Files program to restore a backup made with the built-in Back Up Data Files program, all Tabs3 data files including the archive files are restored as well as TAS data files.
If you restore all Tabs3 data files, any tasks performed after the backup was made must be performed again.
